Angie and Lenny have been married for five years. They wanted to have some fun and excitement before they decided to have some kids and so they with forethought fashioned a super dynamic social life.

Similarly, Angie has been feeling down in the dumps about life and to deal with this, she has been drinking more repeatedly than any time in the past nine months. Furthermore, Angie has been getting quite a few migraine headaches and suffering from awful hangovers from drinking. Finally, Angie has been feeling significantly less active when she gets up in the morning, she has been getting to work late every Monday, and she has been getting some well-deserved criticism from her friends, relatives, family members, and coworkers about her abusive and hazardous drinking.

One Wednesday evening while watching TV, Lenny and Angie without any planning at all discovered an attention-grabbing documentary about alcohol facts and alcoholism facts in general and about alcoholism signs in particular. This TV program was a real eye opener to Lenny and Angie because several of the alcohol facts that were discussed seemed like they were indubitably related to some of the drinking issues Lenny and Angie had been experiencing.

With thoughts of the TV special still fresh in her mind, Angie asked Lenny if some of the alcoholism signs they have been manifesting could be a signal that they are dependent on alcohol or maybe becoming alcohol dependent. Lenny didn't know the answer to Angie's question and so he suggested that they make an appointment with one of the healthcare professionals at the local substance abuse rehabilitation facility to find out more about the seriousness of their drinking difficulties.

Ironically, even though their drinking situation hadn't yet changed, it was clear that Angie and Lenny were at the very least concentrating on their drinking issues, they were enthusiastic about finding out more about their drinking behavior, and they were concerned about how they could substantially lessen or eliminate the alcohol-related difficulties that had begun to intensify.
